Ostrow hit at SXSW - Hollywood Reporter

Executive Producer and Producer’s Representative of HEAVENS FALL, Page B. Ostrow, has been hit with a frenzy of calls from Hollywood Execs who are beginning to court Ostrow in anticipation of a bidding war Monday night.  Ostrow is the key point person for negotiations on this compelling film starring David Strathairn and Timothy Hutton about the famous Scottsboro trial. Ostrow and Company is becoming a force known for focusing on socially conscious films. (Stolen Childhoods with Meryl Streep, Juvies with Mark Wahlberg, and SWEAT, Nike sweatshop expose currently in post.)  Ostrow believes in supporting films that begin with a compelling story and ultimately change the way people think globally. With this notion in mind and a marriage between money and message, Ostrow is anticipating a bidding war that is already brewing with the unveiling of HEAVENS FALL at the much anticipated red carpet premiere at the South By South West Film Festival on Monday night, March 13th.

With Oscar’s focus on films with a message, HEAVENS FALL, starring David Strathairn and Timothy Hutton continues that important trend. The film centers on the monumental “Scottsboro Boy’s” trial of 1930; a trial that set many important precedents in the American justice system we have come to know today, including the requirement of mixed-race juries. HEAVENS FALL concerns the trial of nine black men who were accused of raping two women in the deep south, as well as the personal trials of the men’s lawyer as he struggles to obtain justice in a predominantly prejudiced culture.
