The Bros. - Newport Earns Top Honors in PLANSPONSOR Annual Survey - Press Release
ORLANDO, FL – January 9, 2006 – Reachfar Films is pleased to announce that postproduction has recently been completed on its first feature film, THE BROS. Now that the much-anticipated, quirky comedy is ready to be screened to distributors and acquisitions executives, the film’s producers have inked a deal with Page Ostrow of Ostrow and Company to represent the project.
Based on an award-winning short film that earned numerous accolades and glowing critical reviews on the festival circuit, THE BROS. is an off-the-wall comedy about two clueless, confused white teens from the suburbs, who aspire to become “gangster rap” music stars. The film follows the misadventures of these wannabe rap stars, Pete and Lanny, a.k.a. “the bros.,” as they resort to great extremes⎯including a botched, bumbling all-night crime-spree⎯in a desperate attempt to raise $10,000 for a much-needed studio recording session.
The buzz surrounding the project and its award-winning script attracted celebrities from the professional sports and pop music world. Joey Fatone, from mega-group N’ Sync, accepted a supporting role in the film, as one of the primary victims of the bros’ crime spree. Professional wrestling’s Jimmy Hart, known best for portraying the slick, fast-talking manager of Hulk Hogan and Andy Kaufman, steps into the role of a black market gun dealer and business associate of Pete and Lanny. NBA MVP Shaquille O’Neal makes a cameo appearance in a mockumentary within the film, as does Vanilla Ice, Carrot Top, Cindy Margolis, Daunte Culpepper, and multi-platinum rap star Ludacris. In addition, executive producer and NBA record holder Dennis Scott plays a pivotal role in the film as the stepfather of one of the bros.
One hundred percent of all rights are available for the 35mm feature film. Producer’s rep Page Ostrow will soon begin holding meetings and screenings for distributors in the Los Angeles area. For more information about the film, visit www.thebrosmovie.com or www.themoviepages.com.
